Admission Process

PROCESS
Prior to completing your online application we encourage you to read the Program Overview and Program Framework for the Peacebuilding Peacelearning Intensive. 

Some of the questions in the application require short essay answers. Unfortunately our online application does not allow you to save your progress. Thus, prior to completing this online form we suggest you download the MS Word Version of the application below and complete the answers at your leisure. When you have completed the MS Word application please return to this page and copy and paste your answers into the form.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.  The National Peace Academy will inform you of your acceptance status within 7 days of applying. 

Many scholarships are available. You are encouraged to apply for scholarship if needed—regardless of income level.

DEADLINES
Applications must be received by July 1 for full consideration.

MINIMAL BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; beyond that, any and all education and community action experience is relevant for eligibility.  Applicants should indicate relevant personal, professional, and civic action experiences and/or demonstrate a strong desire to engage in future peacebuilding work. 

Prerequisite knowledge, skills, and sensibilities:

  • Ability to express ideas clearly and participate actively in group discussion 
  • Willingness to recognize and reflect on personal and collective bias and prejudice 
  • Willingness to listen actively, reflectively, and respectfully toward authentic understanding of diverse opinions and perspectives
