Dr. Elspeth Macdonald is Coordinator of the Education for Peace Network and a Research Fellow at the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (NCPACS). In establishing the Education for Peace Network, Elspeth is working with teachers/curriculum groups to develop relevant resources and capacity for teaching education for peace in the New Zealand school curriculum. She was previously Director of the Australian Child and Adolescent Trauma, Loss and Grief Network based at the ANU and worked closely with educators to develop resources and linkages for schools supporting trauma and disaster recovery. Her research interests focus on exposure to direct violence, inequality changing environmental contexts and adaptive coping. As an active member of Teachers Without Borders, she has completed the Peace Education online course and has been facilitating the course since June 2011.
